Garmin eTrex 30
Garmin Oregon 450
Garmin Dakota 20
Garmin Monterra
I would add to this roster the GarminGPSMap 64s or 62s.
All of the above models are fine models to buy but I like the size and push button reliable characteristics of 60 series. I feel that the buttons are more resilient to the rigors of the outdoors.

I find it hard to believe that the Monterra outsells the latest in the GPSmap series. It costs more than twice as much and is very buggy. I own both and vastly prefer my GPSmap64. I will say, though, that my "60 series" units seem to have a 4 year lifespan as I either lose or drown them after that time!
ReplyDeleteJeff, Great feedback, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about a 4 year life span. Before getting the 64 I lost my 62 to exceptionally cold temperatures when I left my receiver in my car then the temps went way below zero.
Not a big fan of the touch screen either on the Montera.
